St Lawrence Village Hall is the hub of the village. We want this to continue for years to come, and joining us ensures the future of the village hall for the community.
St Lawrence Village Hall is a charity run by a Management Committee made up of a group of 10-12 volunteers, our Trustees
We're a friendly bunch with a fairly even 50:50 male to female mix. Some of us are working age, some semi-retired, some retired. One thing we have in common is that we love this village and want the village hall to be here for years to come.
The Committee meets 4 times a year.
A few of us wanted to set up a Social Club with two main objectives. One is to provide the residents of St Lawrence with a place to socialise with friends and neighbours in the village. The other is for social events to help fundraise towards the upkeep of the village hall.
We host a monthly pop-up-bar, and 6-8 other events, such as quiz nights, talks and shows.
The social club members meet once a year to decide on the calendar of events. We also have a friendly WhatsApp group for informal discussions.
Being at the heart of our community, we’re always looking for friendly, practical people to help shape the hall's future. By joining our management committee, you’ll become a trustee of the charity and play a hands-on part in keeping this lovely Victorian hall thriving for years to come.
No special expertise is needed – just enthusiasm, a bit of time (don't worry, not too much), and a wish to support local life. If you’re curious, we’d love to have a chat.
